Antispam Help Topics

The Antispam area allows system administrators to modify all of the antispam options within SmarterMail to maximize the fight agains spam for users. This areas is broken up into various tabs, each offering various settings and configurations available for a specific area. Below is a list of these tabs, giving administrators a convenient way to access descriptions and discussions of the settings contained on each tab. The tabs available include:

  • Options - This is where you manage a variety of antispam options for the server, including adding trusted domains and/or trusted addresses for all domains, set up Filtering rules for low/medium/high probabilities, set SMTP Blocking thresholds, set options for things like autoresponders and DMARC compliance checks, set up Greylisting Options, and more.
  • Spam Checks - This is where you're able to view, enable, and modify a number of non-RBL/URIBL spam checks such as DKIM, Reverse DNS, SPF, and antispam add-ons like Cyren Premium Antispam and Message Sniffer, and more.
  • RBLs - This area allows you to view and modify the various default RBLs that are available for the server. It's also where you can add any additional RBL checks, complementing the existing checks that are available.
  • URIBLs - This area allows you to view and modify the various default URIBLs that are available for the server. It's also where you can add any additional URIBL checks, complementing the existing checks that are available.
  • Greylist Filters - Add or modify the greylisting exceptions.
  • Recommended Antispam and Antivirus Settings - Review the recommended, but highly configurable, settings for SmarterMail's included antispam and antivirus.

Once a particular page of Help is opened, the tree view menu to the left will expand. Administrators can then select a tab from the tree view to view its particluar settings and configurations.
