Allowed Posters
| This settings page is only available to domain administrators, mailing list moderators and system administrators with the proper permissions. |
Who can post to a mailing list is controlled on the list's Options tab: anyone, subscribers only, or — when both posting toggles are off — the List Moderator only. The Allowed Posters tab supplements those general rules by letting you specify individual email addresses that can always post to the list, regardless of the posting rules. Think of it as a whitelist of trusted senders for the list.
This is particularly useful for announcement-style lists. For example, a company newsletter might be locked down so subscribers can't post, but the marketing manager and the CEO — neither of whom is the List Moderator — are added as Allowed Posters so they can still send announcements.
To add an allowed poster, go to the Allowed Posters tab and use the New button, then enter the email address of the person who can post messages to the mailing list. Be sure to save your changes. Selecting an existing entry lets you edit or delete it.
Importing and Exporting Posters
In addition to manually adding allowed posters, the Actions (⋮) menu on this tab offers Import CSV File and Export CSV File options. Importing lets you add many posters at once from a Comma Separated Value (.CSV) file, and exporting is especially convenient when the same group of people should be able to post to another list you administer: download the list, edit it if needed, and import it into the other list.
Banned Posters
The flip side of allowed posters is the Banned Posters tab, which lists addresses that can never post to the list — even if the general posting rules would otherwise allow them.
