Settings
This page allows system administrators to view information about the various hubs and nodes that comprise their SmarterMail HA cluster. Hubs and nodes are listed individually, and some basic information is provided about each.
Server Info
This card holds the Cluster Hostname, or the primary hostname used for the entire SmarterMail HA cluster. This acts similar to the primary hostname assigned to a standalone SmarterMail server. The "Force all traffic over HTTPS" toggle improves SmarterMail HA security by only accepting traffic that is secured via TLS/SSL. NOTE: This also means that any domain hosted by SmarterMail HA requires a valid SSL certificate.
Certificate Management
The password used to encrypt the certificate store folder to add additional at-rest security, or the password associated to any existing certificates that are added to the certificates folder that the cluster administrator wants SmarterMail to read.
Failover Timing
This card allows cluster administrators to set timings for when a node will failover should it lose communications. These settings include:
- Max Time Spend Recovering Node (Seconds) - The amount of time, in 5 second increments, that a hub will attempt to communicate with a node before it fails over to a standby. By default, this is set to 60.
- Node Communication Timeout - The amount of time, in 5 second increments, a node will attempt to recover itself before it shuts down. By default this is set to 30.
The two timeframes differ as SmarterMail HA needs to control when a node shuts down when it fails versus when a hub takes control and fails a node over to a standby. This ensures that a node that cannot be controlled anymore shuts down before the standby is brought into rotation.
